Finals Week: Spring 2009

8 days from today, I will be done with my junior year of college!

I took my first final yesterday, and totally rocked it. I guess it helps when the professor reads it to you the class before =P

Next week, I have a pretty important presentation. Then, finals on Friday night and Saturday morning. Um, really? Why does the College think that that's a good idea? Friday night's finals are from 4-7, then 7:30-10:30. Saturday's is 8-11 IN THE MORNING. My brain will never be ready for that!

The only final I'm really worried about is the one Saturday morning. But I'm studying hardcore for that one :-P

Here's an overview of my classes I took:

Intro Bio
I know...I was just trying to finish my science requirement! It was a breeze...but the labs consume too much time. I was really bored.

Intro to Psychology
Another fairly easy class, but I LOVED my professor! He made the class actually make sense. It could have easily been a drag.

Business Communication
Durbin is the best. The End. I'm going to miss his classes!

Gender & Communication
This was by far the most challenging class, but definetly the most interesting. We discussed many controversial topics and explored different aspects of media and social norms that affect the way we perceive our gender. Everyone was entitled to their own opinion...we were just asked to think about different perspectives. I even wrote a paper analyzing my life and how I was influenced by the subcultures in which I grew up, versus the subcultures that exist today. I learned a lot, and got some new perspectives which I will always appreciate. :)

Next semester brings my SENIOR YEAR!
My fall 2009 schedule:
Communication Research Methods
Media Criticism
Social Psychology
Human Sexuality

I REALLY don't want to take research methods or media criticism, but I guess I have no choice. The first three from that list complete my requirements to get my communication degree. However, I still have to stay for an additional semester to accrue the number of hours required to graduate...yuck!

I'm almost there...
